Personal Message from the Director
What started as a micro-film exercise (I called it 'mobile-sintas' series - films shot using mobile phones during idle times) to avoid idleness became a trilogy; got selected in a total of 19 international film festivals; and won 2 international awards. This was one of the biggest surprises of my life because I have never imagined that my little quick storytelling would have gone this far. But I'm grateful to the people of this universe for liking and supporting these works. Today, August 9, 2023, I'm very proud to partner with DNX News for the online premiere of the micro-trilogy and its epilogue (which was never released before because it is technically a "speech").
Each of the mobile-sintas (mobile film) have related info below which may be of interest to you. They're all best watched with a headphone, in a laptop and in dark rooms so that there would be no glares on the screen. Elvert JV
While writing his new book, an author tries to find his voice while hearing others as a result. Fact or fiction?
Avoiding cliches (and unwriting scenes from his novel for him not to see another doppelganger like in chapter one), the author battles his creative demons in his desire to surprise his readers.
The author goes out of his comfort zones to fight his creative demons only to see his doppelganger again. In denial of this surreal phenomenon, he tries to kill his dead ringer by rewriting his fate.
After "Ang May Akda: Ikatlong Yugto" (The Author: Chapter Three) won Best in Category (Get To The Point) at Copenhagen WebFest, the festival requested for a thank you video from the filmmaker who failed to attend the awards night. Opting instead to make a film as a substitute for a speech, "Ang May Akda: Kawingan" (The Author: Hyperlink) was created.

Trivia: This was shot during the pandemic lockdowns when everything was put to a halt and everyone was staying at their homes. Elvert shot this one in his condo unit and he shed 15 pounds for this mirco-film, creating a back-story that the author lost weight because of the toxicity of events since the first chapter of the film.

Trivia: This is the first episode in the series that had additional cast & collaborators apart from Elvert and that had mostly exterior shots. They shot this in his hometown when he was there to help implement the Dinagyang Digital in 2021 wherein he is co-artistic director. The film was shot in old downtown Iloilo, Richmonde Hotel and in Arevalo (his home district). The idea was that now the author is old but still haunted by the unknown doppelganger so he has to find a way to end it.
